The Pawy site uses its own and third-party cookies to store the user's session and preferences, personalize the browsing experience and obtain statistics on the use of the website. By continuing to browse the Pawy website, the user consents to the use of cookies in accordance with the provisions of the Cookies Policy set out below. 

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data Pawy ("we", "us", "Pawy") collects, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over your data. It applies to www.pawy.ch and all related services. Pawy is the data controller. For any privacy question or request, contact hello_at_pawy.ch. We may update this policy as our services or laws evolve. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest version. Material changes will be communicated by email or a notice on the site. Data we collect and why

This section explains what personal data we collect, how we process it, and the specific purposes for each type of data, including data we receive when you sign in using Facebook Login.

What data we collect
 

Account and contact data: name, email address, phone number, billing address, delivery address, and a hashed (encrypted) password.

Pet profile data: your pet's name, species, breed, age, weight, body condition, activity level, allergies, sensitivities, and any health notes you provide.

Order and payment data: order history, subscription status, delivery preferences, and a transaction reference plus the last four digits of your card. Full card numbers are entered directly on our payment provider's secure checkout and are never seen or stored by Pawy.

Facebook Login data: if you choose to sign in using Facebook, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Facebook. We do not receive your Facebook password and we never post on your behalf. You can revoke this access at any time in your Facebook account settings.

Google Login data: if you choose to sign in using Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google, under the same conditions as above.

Technical and usage data: IP address, device type, browser, pages visited, and referral source.

Marketing and advertising data: email open and click data, ad responses, and pseudonymous identifiers used to measure campaign performance.

Customer support data: messages, emails, and chat transcripts when you contact our support team.

 

How we process this data

We collect data directly from you (when you create an account, place an order, or contact support), receive it from third-party login providers (Facebook, Google) when you choose social sign-in, and gather it automatically through cookies and similar technologies when you browse our site. Data is stored on secure servers, accessed only by authorized personnel, and shared only with the categories of service providers listed in Section 2.

The specific purposes for which we process your data

Account and contact data: used to create and manage your Pawy account, authenticate logins, process orders, deliver products, and communicate with you about your subscription.

Pet profile data: used to calculate the right meal plan, portion size, and nutritional formulation for your pet.

Order and payment data: used to process payments, fulfil orders, manage subscriptions, prevent fraud, and meet Swiss tax and accounting obligations.

Facebook Login data: used to create your Pawy account, authenticate you when you log in, and pre-fill your name and email so you do not have to type them manually. Facebook Login data is not used for advertising and is not shared with third parties beyond what is required to operate the login feature.

Google Login data: used to create your Pawy account, authenticate you when you log in, and pre-fill your name and email. Google Login data is not used for advertising.

Technical and usage data: used to keep the site secure, prevent fraud, troubleshoot errors, and improve site performance.

Marketing and advertising data: used to send marketing emails (with your consent), measure the performance of our advertising campaigns, and personalize the ads you see on Meta, Google, and TikTok.

Customer support data: used to respond to your questions and resolve issues.

Who we share your data with

We share data only on a need-to-know basis with carefully selected service providers who help us operate Pawy. They act strictly under our instructions, are bound by written data protection agreements, and cannot use your data for their own purposes. We share data with the following categories of recipients:

 

Hosting and infrastructure providers — to operate our website, store account data, and keep the service running.

 

Payment service providers — to securely process your payments. Card details are entered directly on the provider's PCI-DSS certified checkout. Pawy never sees or stores your full card number.

 

Logistics and delivery partners — to deliver your orders (name and address only)

 

Email and communication platforms — to send transactional and marketing emails

 

Authentication providers — when you choose to sign in via a third-party social login

 

Analytics and advertising platforms — to measure site performance and the effectiveness of our marketing

 

Customer support tools — to respond to your questions and manage help requests -

 

Professional advisors and authorities — accountants, auditors, or legal counsel, and public authorities where required by Swiss law, court order, or to protect our legal rights We do not sell your personal data. A current list of our specific service providers is available on request by emailing hello_at_pawy.ch.

Where your data is stored and how long we keep it

Your data is primarily stored and processed in Switzerland and the EU/EEA. Some service providers process data in the United States or other countries. When data leaves Switzerland or the EU/EEA, we rely on the EU-US and Swiss-US Data Privacy Frameworks, Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and recognized by the Swiss FDPIC, or another lawful transfer mechanism.

 

Retention periods: 

  • Account, pet profile, and Facebook Login data: retained for as long as your account remains open with Pawy. Deletion is performed only upon your request, following the steps in Section 4.

  • Order, invoice, and payment records: retained for 10 years as required by Swiss accounting and tax law (Art. 958f Swiss Code of Obligations).

  • Marketing data: kept until you unsubscribe or withdraw consent.

  • Support messages: retained for as long as needed to provide and improve customer support.

  • Cookies and analytics data: retained according to category (see cookie banner for details).

Your rights and how to request deletion of your data

Under the Swiss FADP and the EU GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your data. You may also withdraw consent for marketing or analytics at any time, request data portability, and lodge a complaint with the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (edoeb.admin.ch) or your local EU data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@pawy.ch with the subject line "Privacy request".

How to request deletion of your data

You can request deletion of all personal data we hold about you, including any data obtained through Facebook Login, at any time. Deletion is performed only when you contact us and request it.

  • Step 1. Send an email to hello@pawy.ch from the email address linked to your Pawy account.

  • Step 2. Use the subject line:  "Data deletion request".

  • Step 3. In the message, confirm you want your account and personal data deleted.

 

What happens next: We acknowledge your request within 72 hours. We delete your account, pet profile, marketing data, and any Facebook Login data we hold within 30 days of receiving your request. Order, invoice, and payment records are retained for 10 years as required by Swiss accounting law (Art. 958f Swiss Code of Obligations), then deleted. We confirm completion by email.

 

Deleting Facebook Login data only: If you signed in to Pawy using Facebook and want to disconnect that login (without deleting your full account), email hello@pawy.ch with subject "Facebook Login deletion". We will remove the Facebook data we received (name, email, profile picture) within 30 days of receiving your request. You can also revoke Pawy's access to your Facebook data at any time directly in your Facebook account: Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites → Pawy → Remove.

The user has the possibility of configuring his browser so as to be notified of the reception of cookies and to prevent their installation on his equipment. The main Internet browsers offer options for blocking and eliminating cookies, but the procedure may differ from one browser to another. To uninstall cookies, we recommend that you consult the instructions provided by the manufacturer of your Internet browser.
